Five Things (FUMC College) 5.4

Prayer for the week...
Almighty Father who gave your only Son to die for our sins and to rise for our justification: Give me grace so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that I may always serve you in pureness of living and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son my Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.Sixth week of Easter (out of seven!). Remember: Easter is a season; not just a day. Are you living like it?

Are you done? Are you finished? The end is near. You can make it.

Your invitations to mission, community and formation this week:

1... Link of the week:
Ever wonder what the Bible sounds like in its original language? This place has mp3's of every chapter of the Old Testament spoken in Hebrew. Wild stuff.

2... Summer mission: Ghana... Where is God leading you this summer? Might he be calling you to finally break out of your comfort zone. July 29-August 10. Cost is $1500. Final signup date, May 12 (ONE WEEK). Need an application? Email me.

3... Will you be spending any part of your summer on a summer mission trip? We want to know about it. Email/facebook me about it, and we'll be sure you're held up in prayer by our community.

4... Midweek Bible study... Do you ever wonder about Jesus? I mean, what does this first-century Jewish rabbi have to say to this microwave, wi-fi, iPhone world? And how is that relevant to my life? We're reading the gospel of Mark, and Jesus the God-Man is the center of our conversation. Warm goodies to eat and drink, too. My house, Wednesday at 8 pm--5172 E 30th St, just north of 31st between Yale and Sheridan.

5... Sunday morning... As we read through the Bible in the year, we're now into 1 & 2 Kings and Luke. Feel free to jump in with us. We meet in the YFC gameroom at 10:55. You can follow the schedule here:

Questions? Let me know. Heaps of blessings on you all. Know you are prayed for this week.~pw
